Paragliding Tuition and Training Courses:

Learn to fly a paraglider with Sussex HANG GLIDING
& PARAGLIDING. Whether you want to become an advanced pilot
or you just want to give paragliding a go, we have paragliding courses
suitable for you.
We fly all year round on every day that it is safe to do so, and courses
can be started at anytime.

Intro day: -
You'd be amazed at what you can achieve in just one day!
The first day of your paragliding training, starts with the necessary
safety briefings, and an introduction to the sport and equipment. Soon
you will be in control of the glider, practicing ground handling and
launching skills, which must be mastered in order to progress safely.
We hope, by lunchtime for you to have your feet off the ground!
During the afternoon you will progress, completing higher and higher
flights; starting off at 6-10ft so that any mistakes can be rectified
at a safe height, and then steadily progressing up to 200ft or more
by the end of the day!
All of this is done under the experienced supervision of our qualified
instructors, who have your safety and enjoyment as their aims. BUY

2 day/weekend:
The second day starts where we finished at the end of your first. We
aim to
get you high! Progressing towards the top of the hill and practising
turns
whilst continuing to improve your launch and landing techniques.

Weekend Paragliding Courses:
|
These take place throughout the year. In two days we aim to get you
flying your first top to bottoms and usually much more!

Elementary Pilot Courses:
|
Sussex Hang Gliding & Paragliding offer a 5 day EPC, in which
you will become competent at launching, landing and flying a Paraglider
in smooth conditions.
You will also be introduced to the theory behind paragliding and free
flying in a series of short lectures - by the end of which, you will
be able to sit the BHPA EP exam.
The course can take place on any days you choose, including weekends.

Club Pilot Certificate
Courses (CPC):
|
This follows on from the EPC and takes 5 days.
Many skills have to be perfected in order to fly safely, and the CPC
gives you the opportunity to practice these with expert and intuitive
instruction: Co-ordinated, efficient turns, competent ground control,
soaring and top landings are but a few of these necessary skills that
will be concentrated on.
A more thorough knowledge of the theory is also required to pass the
exam, which will enable you to gain the CP qualification, allowing you
to fly at recognised club sites unsupervised.
The CPC becomes open ended when you buy a glider from us (i.e. you can
do as many training days as you want). This allows you to become fully
conversant with your equipment and for you to gain enough confidence
to fly the club sites.
Pilot:
We help with all your needs towards the P qualification, with organised
lecture evenings, pilot briefings on club sites and foreign trips. Once
the flying tasks are completed, you will need to concentrate on the
exam which requires an in depth knowledge of all aspects of our sport.
The P rating allows you to fly at all sites, fly XC and participate
in competitions.
