Sussex Hang Gliding & Paragliding are the oldest established hang gliding schools in the south of England. Most hang glider pilots in the South have been taught by us. We have the experience and equipment to teach you to fly safely. 8 dedicated training gliders.Superb sites facing all wind directions and the best instructors in the country.
COME AND LEARN WITH THE BEST.

Teaching hang gliding requires experience born of years. Don't be misled. If a school doesn't have a wide range of hang gliding equipment, its own dedicated sites and a history of successfully qualifying people to club pilot standard - then don't waste your time.

Why not sign up for one of our hang gliding courses! (not spelt handgliding or hand gliding as commonly thought!). You can start with a weekend course if you prefer, or book straight onto the 5 day EPC certificate course.

Weekend Hanggliding Courses:

These take place throughout the year. In two days we aim to get you flying your first top to bottoms and usually much more!

Five Day Elementary Pilot Certificate Courses (EPC):

These start on Mondays and Saturdays throughout the year. On completion of this course you should be able to fly a hang glider from a hill in smooth conditions and follow a simple flight plan displaying excellent airmanship!
We carefully structure the course to ensure individuals progress, step by step, at their own pace. Early flights will be tethered, but as you advance you will be free flying. For higher solo flights we may use radio helmets so that, amongst other things, we can praise your perfect flights and landings! We will be there, encouraging and advising you, every step of the way.
It takes on average, five full days to reach EPC standard. At the end of the EPC you may well be addicted to hang gliding (no known cure) and unable to help yourself book up for the next course.

Club Pilot Certificate Course (CPC):

Successful completion of which should enable you to fly a hang glider of your own. You will learn how to soar and go into prone on this course. The school has its own fifth generation hang gliders and superb soaring and top landing sites to help you to complete the demands of the CPC.

Three day "taster" flying courses are also run by the school with the aim of simply getting you into the air. Whilst attending a hang gliding course it is also possible to have a go at Paragliding!
